Taylor Momsen – Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction?

Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless sits down with Graham ‘Gruhamed’ Hartmann for a round of ‘Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction?’ http://loudwire.com.

  1. Not a fan of her acting or music, but I am in love with her fashion. It’s
pretty much the same style I have and I always covet her outfits.
What is the shirt she’s wearing? Band, brand..? Looks like it says
    “RELIGION”
The artwork catches my eye. I like the Shining shirt that the interviewer
    is sporting, too.

  2. I’ve seen some people comment saying she’s wearing sunglasses because she’s
on drugs… A lot of famous woman (and woman in general) wear sunglasses to
hide the fact they don’t have make up. It is possible she was on drugs, she
has admitted to doing drugs, but I don’t she would feel the need to hide
it. Another reason is she’s hung over which is fairly likely that she is
hung over and didn’t feel like putting on makeup. (The simplest answer is
    usually the right one)

  3. I love her attitude, I just have a real pet hate for celebrities wearing
sunglasses in interviews. It doesn’t feel like there is a connection with
    them on

  4. Wasnt this dumb whore on glee or something. And were suppose to believe ur
some hard core santanist rock star? Hollywood. Lol

  5. not sure what everyone is smoking, the 20th century was the bloodiest
century on earth, bloodier than all centuries previous combined. If that is
progress than pooping my pants counts as progress too !

  6. Of course it’s Sci-Fi… until it happens. Jet airplanes used to be Sci-Fi.
Cell phones in the 1960’s, aka Star Trek communicator, where supposed to be
300 years away. While it’s anyone’s guess as to when, it will happen. The
    singularity is coming.

  7. Thanks for this interview! Many seem to get carried away with the buzzword
“singularity” without having much understanding about how computers
(machines/programs) actually function. Chomsky’s incisive observations
should be required for all Google employees!

  8. Noam is like look at me! is the singularity real? look at me!! if it was
real i would not look like this!

  9. 20:00 he says we shouldn’t be concerned with losing control of AI.
And that is the fruit of his thought process on AI.
And that is why I fault him and Penrose and folks like them.
They might get us all killed. They must admit privately that they really
don’t actually know, yet they recklessly try to deter the cautionary side
of AI research, and AI research in general, I would add.

  10. Never ask a scientist about social issues…the answer will be quirky on
the social stuff as the scientific stuff is insightful.

  11. “…now any rational person recognizes this [global warming] to be extremely
serious, and unfortunately any rational person doesn’t happen to include
any large part of the U.S. Congress.” Noam Chomsky

  12. *WOW!!! The code & structure for Conscious Computing!!!*

I’m in my apt knitting because it’s raining outside. Since I have no TV, I
go through the usual YouTube videos (music, light entertainment, comedy).

Then I decided to search “Noam Chomsky” because someone recently started a
conversation about Michael Gondry (‘Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’)’s
documentary about him and Ray Kurzweil’s Singularity — not being aware
that I’m a nerd and into brain-related topics.

[Yes, what a light topic for his first-ever conversation with me when he
had no idea I’m a techie and could just as easily have asked me about what
I was cooking for dinner! Lol.]

Anyway, I searched YouTube and happened across these three videos:

    * Noam Chomsky — Noam Chomsky: The Singularity is Science Fiction!

Chomsky quoting Turing: “The question of whether machines can think is too
    meaningless to deserve discussion.”

Plus this: “There’s been very little progress since Turing that’s changed
our concept of thinking. What would be interesting is “Can we design a
    theory of being smart?”

    * Marvin Minsky —- http://youtu.be/3PdxQbOvAlI?t=27m18s

Argues against Probabilistic models of machine learning to simulate the
    human brain and nervous system.

    * Stuart Hameroff – http://youtu.be/YpUVot-4GPM?t=10m50s

Makes the case for Quantum Mechanics in any model of conscious computing.

Ok I have to share something crazy-mad here.

Independent from the theories of these guys………I’m not a student of their
    works……

I set out to try to build a “Sensing System” rather than Turing’s “Thinking
Machine” because my father had passed away following a coma and that
sparked me to compare what was defined to be “consciousness” in medical
sciences with the supposed consciousness of the Global Brain and AI.

    +rik finn +Ahoo Pirsoleimani +John Rodrigues +Andrew Borg —- OMG!!! My
    work has meaning!!!

  13. WHAT THE FUCK allowing undocumented illegals to serve on a jury is
    PROGRESS?
no philosophical idea coming out of california is progress

  14. Noam is a freakin genius and I love him! However I would humbly say, I
think he is a man of his time and his cultural perspective is starting to
fall behind. Its not that we need to fix what we have…we need something
totally new…Am I crazy? What do you think?

  15. Brilliant perspectives on AI. This really brings ballance to the topic.
With much speculation on singularity and the future of robotics being
promoted at times in utopian terms, Noam Chomsky provides a lucid
understanding of those limits. (Video is from 2013)
