  1. Hey there Poets.

I don’t know if this is too niche for some of you but I shared this in my
other community and thought it might be inspirational here since we do have
a fair number of younger poets (hence the need to keep things PG except in
    the NSFW area).

She’s 12 years old. Yes, 12. And was recently featured at the Nuyorican
Poets Cafe in New York City which is like making it to Broadway or landing
a starring role in a film for an actor.

NYC poetry community by developing her own unique voice and bravely
exploring mature themes like alienation, abandonment, loneliness, and
abuse. Follow Kioni’s emotional journey as she prepares for her first
featured performance at New York’s famed Nuyorican Poets Cafe. “*

  3. Have you seen this young lady? She has an amazing mind, and a tremendous
future ahead of her. I love listening to young people discuss poetry and
the process of their art. Enjoy!

  6. ..This inspires. I believe in the power of poetry that someday it can
change the lives of people as it already has done for me. With my poems, i
hope someday i can do that too. Guys, continue, and keep expanding. Good
    work

  7. Wow, she is amazing. Definitely wish beyond her years. I completely
understand her craft though. People use to say that about me when I wrote
when I was younger. Half of the things I had never experienced but I
wrote/recited it as if I did. I wish her the best in her journey.

  8. Not gonna lie, the poem she performed at the end of the video, scraps, made
a hard-knot in my throat. Beautiful poems about things that people go
through today but don’t speak about. In a sense she’s their voice. Simply
    amazing!

  9. Wonderful, just what we need! More women being stuck up with a overly high
sense of entitlement while being mad at the world as if every guy played a
role in their modern day problems. These are the same type of women that
will date one or two bad guys then say ALL guys are the same……based off
those people, then question where are all the good guys.

  10. Amazingly talented young lady! I am proud to see that our young afrikan
generation are waking up. Forget the haters and their comments. Stay strong
and always say what’s on your mind. Respect

  11. Good action like you are a poet for peoples lie. Everyone need a own life,
but so many dont know they have one
