  1. Have you tried your computer with a white screen “on your browser”?
just save “” to a file named “name.html”.
then drag it to the browser. or find a white part of any webpage.

  2. If there’s one thing that YouTube has taught me is that there is such fury
inside people and they feel it necessary to unleash it in bizarre ways! All
I was trying to do was to solve a problem with this video, a problem I had
encountered through the years as a photographer with loads of slides. I’m
totally used to the abuse from strangers on YouTube. I’m fine, but many are
    not doing very well!

  3. This method is for people who don’t want to spend any money, and use
whatever tools they have at home. The title states DIY.

  4. Bad idea in my opinion. The support stand will move any time you change the
slide: unless you focus again and again for each slide a lot of pictures
will be out of focus. Thus, the slide plan could be not perfectly aligned
with the camera sensor, leading to out of focus borders and vertical
distortion. You need to have a stable stand support, allowing to delicately
slip in the slides without moving anything on the table, and always keeping
the distance between slide and lens perfectly constant.

  5. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it stupid. It’s not meant for
everyone, but I can definitely see how it works.

  6. @glow3tour thanks for watching! My dad came up with the idea, and I’d been
wanting to learn how to do that for years, so figured others would too.

  7. why is it dumb? It solved one of my most pressing issues that I faced for
years! I had tons of slides and not a penny to spend on fancy converter
gadgets. I knew there were others out there who could build a simple set up
in their home for nothing. You do need a decent digital camera for this to
    work though.

  8. you now have a digital version of your slide contained within your digital
camera. Performance was done to hold provide entertainment while you learn.
Drab How To videos are a chore to watch!

  9. You need a cheap secondhand camera thats good in macro or supermacro too.
The old canon powershot a430 etc seriesare good for this.

  10. I’ve actually done this too! (with 120, but pretty close). But I used a
slightly more neutral color temperature light. I think it might make a
difference even with an appropriate white balance of the digital camera.

  11. Due to the fact that I have thousands of slides that I want to convert,
this seems to be a bit more time consuming than I can spare. Although I
have to be careful with my money, I think I’m going to buy a converter
instead. That being said, your idea is clever and I enjoyed watching your
    video.

  12. Thanks Stellabelle, when I was searching on how to convert my slides to
digital in a DIY sense this clip came up first. It was very clear and
concise. I enjoyed the presentation along with the music. I’m glad you’re
not put off by the abuse, but I couldn’t bite my tongue. I need to realise
that some people CHOOSE to be stupid. Thanks again for your video.

  13. I do reckon that with a little effort (and very little money) you could set
up a piece of wood, with a slide mount on it, that allows you to slip
slides in and out without risking movement and keeps the slide and camera
in plane. A brighter light and using tracing paper as a diffuser would also
allow for better white- balanced (less risk of yellow) and brighter shots.

  14. I agree 100%. She seems a bit unstable, and her first appearance was a
little like the famous scene from Psycho (Alfred Hitchcock). A little less
bizarre drama, and a little more actual information would have been
helpful, but maybe she’s just after the page views, more than showing
people how to do it? At least it gives us an idea to work on though, so it
    wasn’t TOTALLY useless!! :O)

  15. @brendanwalllis Thanks! I actually cannot remember the title of that song.
    I have a bazillion bollywood tunes…..
