  1. I switch hands…I’ve found that by teaching myself to write left handed,
I’m thinking more about writing what I’m feeling and making it count then
trying to imitate others writers…Idk if it will work for anyone else, but
there it is 🙂 I also change pen colors constantly…

  2. Great advice! I’m always looking for awesome new writing tips and this is
really helpful! By the way, you look almost identical to Gabrielle Aplin…
    XD

  3. I love the writing station in the background. There are books for
inspiration, a coffee maker… I wish I had that. Also, great tips! I’ll
    definitely try this.

  4. I’d be concerned that a film soundtrack would be carrying some of the
visual memory, plot, characters, etc. of its own film. There are plenty of
20th and 21st century compositions that will provide the armosphere or
emotional quality Film scores of Howard Shore’s caliber are real
high-quality music, don;t get me wrong — they are just too identified with
their stories. Do a little research to fins music with no “story”
    associations just for ambiance.

  5. Yes i didn’t writing a thesis statement, it was my big problem but now

  6. I just wanted to say thanks for the tips. I found them very interesting and
helpful. Having never written a book before having a few tips like these
that are a little different has been a great motivation for me. Thanks.

  7. YES! Everything you’ve been saying about writing to a specific soundtrack
I’ve been doing for months now. It’s crazy to know I’m not the only one!
Also-also, the TRON LEGACY soundtrack is amazing. Haha I was actually going
to watch that movie tonight (my friend and I are kind of obsessed with it)
    XD

  8. I picture my writing in my head too. Sometimes I even act out parts,
especially dialogue, to see if it’s working like I want it to. It
    definitely helps!

  9. The misty strings of cheese doodles run through my hands like a sweaty rope
in gym class. The pull of gravity stares at me with an evil grin as the
last bit of cheese doodles slips out of my fingers. I fall in slow motion
down to the class who watches me with listless stares and judgments.
Hopefully I will fall on Jenny’s big voluptuous breasts like a soft pillow,
warm from the rays of morning sun.

  10. I don’t know how you can have nothing at all, no idea of what your
characters are and just sit down and write something. I always have some
idea and even then I learned to plan my writing or it comes out like shit.
Check out dustyfemalecat’s novel The Dying Mark to which he links in his
videos. Here are some reviews to show how great it is:

“This is the worst book I have ever come across in my life. I received this
book for free while browsing this author’s youtube channel and my immediate
response was, wow, it must be really horrible if he has to give it away.
Now, I really don’t consider myself as an ultra-intellectual but I can
confidently say that this book is not well written, creative or
groundbreaking in anyway. It seemed to me that this guy was a man with a
lot of money or some kind of “in” and got this book published by mistake.
My roommates and me actually use this book as bathroom entertainment and
highlight passages that we find comical. So if you happen to come across
this book, take it, by all means, but if you are going to read it, you
might get more enjoyment out of it if you look at it as if it were meant to
    be comedic.”

“I found this book in a street gutter. It had obviously been run over
multiple times as the spine was destroyed and tire tread marks were
displayed prominently on the cover. I normally have sympathy for such books
and am against book destruction and have been known to do the repairs
myself. But after I read the first few chapters, I discovered that the
proper place for the book WAS under the wheels of a semi truck. I returned
the book the next day happy to see it ground into the pavement and
    eventually disintegrated.”

“Finally! After all these years, my quest has been fulfilled! I have
finally found a book worse than Twilight! And here I was thinking that it
couldn’t be possible. Scumbag Authors: Proving you wrong, digging to new
depths, and seeking ever more literarily horrifying ways to lower the
    standards of the written word.”

  11. Oh I assumed you meant that. I am not very religious so it was natural for
me to not assume you meant abuse in religion! I think it sounds confronting
but the victims of sexual abuse sometimes can find it therapeutic, if even
it’s painful to see sexual abuse portrayed in art, as it’s a taboo subject.
I was abused. I want to write a book too, not about sexual abuse, but as a
victim of it I have felt a weird kind of relief from reading about others’
experiences. I believe in God, and it has helped

  12. My problem with writing is not that I don’t have any ideas because I do, I
think I have a genuinely great story in my hands with copious notes etc…
my problem is that no matter how well or subtly I write my story people
will not read it because of it’s subject matter or if they do, they’ll get
something completely different from their expectations (my book deals a lot
of topics like religion, sexual abuse and violence). That and I’m expecting
people to just not be interested in it.

  13. in simple terms, you just kinda wing it. discussing the method has little
value either way when compared to the finished product.

  14. wow… I knew that my characters seemed to take a life of their own :/
although now they seemed to have been given free will and now they won’t
    stop :/

  15. I haven’t published any books yet but hope to. For me, I have dreams all
the time about other worlds or certain characters. Fiction is really
awesome and easy for me because of the freedom it gives. Like i may have an
idea about another planet, I won’t have any idea about the characters or
plot, but I find a way to make it into a story.
