How Anti-P2P lawsuit evidence is collected.

How are people using bittorrent being tracked for lawsuits? This is how, and it requires nothing more complex than a bittorrent client. Also, why block-lists…

  1. im running a open wireless network. those who sendt me the wireless ruter
wondt let me encrypt it (tooway 300mb version) so many outside using my
speed and so on) just dont encrypt anything from now on. just recet ruters
    all folks.
using peerblock ADfender. im not logging any info now. use ccleaner
uninstall utorrent remove it from computer. clear catch for all net
browsers. and use evidence eliminator for win 7 vista (8). disk scrambler
tools work best on rpm disk. ssd disk dletes infor som dont run any ee
tools on it. just format it. or just run ccleaner a few sek and stop it. DO
NOT USE EE 6.03 ON SSD HD.

  2. That would work IIyasWidaad except the corporations suing you have
unlimited resources to spend on lawyers who will definitely beat you in
court. Its not constitutional but that’s how it goes.

  3. That is ironic, because the person collecting the evidence is ALSO
downloading the files onto their hard drive, which means THEY are also in
VIOLATION of the same law. Therefore it’s Illegal what they are also doing.
Perhaps they should be sued also.

  4. @Call4Warfare Why? Your ISP will keep track of who has that IP address,
sometimes for years, other times just for 90days. They just need a letter
in most cases telling them to retain that information, pending a court
order. They won’t disclose it until they get the court order, but neither
will it be wiped after the time limit.

  5. The RIAA’s lawsuit campaign against individual American music fans has
failed. It has failed to curtail P2P downloading. It has not persuaded
music fans that sharing is equivalent to shoplifting. It has not put a
penny into the pockets of artists. It has done nothing to drive filesharers
into the arms of authorized music services…..I know in Canada at least
downloading of a song for a person’s private use does not constitute
infringement.(2004 ruling) for as long as it’s not uploaded…

  6. That does not follow. “Sharing” entails uploading while you are
downloading. Most BitTorrent clients are built to allow that, and only give
you limited (if any) control over it. But there are a few BitTorrent
clients that can completely disable uploading, so you’re not “sharing” at
    all. Just downloading.

  7. There is a problem, You also are pirating 😀 And if someone after this
video thinks that getting info on these torrents is useless cause they’re
    legal.

  8. @EverLearningMan Yeah mine covers over 720 million anti p2p ip’s. I might
just lay off the pirate bay for a while.

  9. I think you should get new lawyers. Sarbanes Oxley (sox) and Payment Card
idnustry rules are something compltely different. That’s logs of financial
transactions. So yes VPNs based IN THE US (most are not) would have to have
a record of payment history. They absolutely do NOT need to have an
activity log though. That’s something completely different. And as I said,
US specific even if it did apply. Most VPNs are not us based so US law
    doesn’t apply. New lawyers definitely!

  10. @Call4Warfare There’s a difference between ‘illegal’ (criminal) and
‘civilly enforceable’ You know this as well as I do. That’s why you said
‘dynamic ip ftw’ before. 99.9% of times this stuff will be used, is in a
civil court. There’s only a handful of places where it won’t be civilly
enforceable, and offhand, that’s Iran, Antigua (for US copyrights ONLY)
North Korea etc. And basically if you’re in one of those countries, they
    tend to block youtube anyway.

  11. @Call4Warfare I know full well what the situation is in the Netherlands. My
day job is researcher for TorrentFreak, a p2p news site BASED in the
Netherlands. Don’t mistake ‘isn’t enforced at the moment’ with ‘can not be
    enforced’.

  12. @cwang1004 Of course it’s scalable. But then, I’ve BEEN to college. I’ve
also BEEN a copyright enforcer, so I know what the job is like, and how
it’s done. This was a simple demonstration of just one way it can be done,
using a widespread tool that a significant percentage use already, without
any modification at all. Especially as those behind the blocklist scams
like to claim they populate the lists based on weird acting clients. As you
can see, they act completely normal.

  13. It is illegal to not keep log files from within the US, and most EU
countries. There are still a small number of countries where the VPN
providers don’t keep logs; but really, you’re gambling as the servers
themselves can simply be taken by the government (see: Demonoid).

  14. What 2 year log requirement? I’m unaware of that. Even ISP’s don’t keep
logs that long. I think you’ve been misled (but if you’ve got a reference
handy, I’ll gladly look at it) Meanwhile torrentfreak
    com/which-vpn-providers-really-take-anonymity-seriously-111007/ shows many
    don’t keep logs at all.

  15. “reputable sources” generally aren’t. Proxy’s are no indication of
‘potentially harmful’. Let’s call it what it is, it’s a “wild guess”. And
if there’s a company that doesn’t have at least one residential connection
doing monitoring, I’ve not found it yet. This kind of research is what I do
    every day, for my job.

  16. I like watching this video….. “Firstoly Tachen the antenna”…
“Yellow light keeps blink”…”and the green light is Stable”
Connection is “Finis-hid”… I am sure she is very sweet girl !…..but I

selected a folder on the C: Drive, (C:/Wanscam/Video File)I have set the
“Record File Length set to 100MB and the reserved Disk Space set to 200 MB
and selected Record Cover. But when I click Submit it removes my settings.
I have over 500GB free space on the C;Drive.

  19. hahahah YOU Chinese!!! Guys look the windows desktop after watching this
video. They didn’t even use a geniune MS Windows version….hahahha
    Microsoft shud sue them

  20. hi there can i please know what the should i type in amazon to buy it,can
you pleasegive me the model number or name please#

  21. The trick about setting up the camera is, not to configure anything before
the WiFi connection. After connecting WiFi, you can set everything. Or
you’ll get yourself in a wireless connection trouble…

  22. I tried to set up the mail address and test it, but it failed. My mail is
in Yahoo, but I have one on Gmail and tested with it too, but failed. Is
there any other step that I will need to do?

  23. GREAT video, just have a question i bought one for my home, worked great

does’t work at all! I am so disappointed the service…

  25. Hi thanks very much for uploading, helped a lot. I have a question though,
I cannot choose ‘local record path’ as it’s still not active. What should I
    do? Thanks
