  1. There are some absolutely bizarre borders between Belgium and the
Netherlands. Little acre sized parcels of Belgium inside little parcels of
the Netherlands. Might make a good vid in the series.

  2. I wonder if anyone smokes pot in Point Roberts. To get it there, you’d have
to take it through Canada where it is still illegal.

  3. Read ‘How The States Got Their Shapes’ by Mark Stein to learn more about
the US’ national and state boundaries.

It’s the 49th parallel because it let Britain keep access to the Great
Lakes and the ocean for trading, via Winnipeg. If it were the 50th
    parallel, Winnipeg would be American.

Also, it’s arguably mathematically cleaner. Notice how Kansas, Nebraska,
and both Dakotas are the same height? 3 degrees, because Kansas had it’s
southern border readjusted from 36’30 (the Missouri Compromise) to 37’00
    (which also made Oklahoma’s panhandle).

Additionally, this is why New Mexico has it’s northern border at 37’00,
because it allows it, along with Colorado, Wyoming and Montana, to all be 4
degrees high, trying to make all the states as equal as they can be.

  4. im an American & think of Canada very similar to US.
I know that might bug some Canadians But Hey I Love Canada too & are a Good
    Neighbor.

  5. For those Point Roberts kids, wouldn’t a ferry ride be easier than a longer
land route involving four border crossings a day?

  6. The British set up a private bank in place of a government(after passing a
law that makes it illegal for America to have its own money) and now the
City Of London undeniably owns the world monetary system. The civil war was
about the south wanting to keep its slaves, the war for independence was a
coupe that only changed a flag. America is/was/always will be purely an
    economic endeavour.

  7. Well, now I’ve even found out about more plans like the US attacking itself
and blaming Cuba, Britain having backup plans for colonies. Seems like
you’ve got a plan for every country. Now this plan doesn’t matter as much
    as I thought it did.

  8. Absolutely amazing information to say the least. And information that while
going through high school YEARS AGO ~ this was never taught to us. Even
asked my grankids who are in school and they too have never been taught any
of this. If schools want to teach students history then this is IT!!!

  9. And if that weren’t already crazy and bordering insanity, there are no
borders for the wealthy, literally, if you have enough money, a Canadian
can get free us citizenship with a resume of his bank account .. while
still keeping his Canadian citizenship. Ain’t money errr freedom grand!

  10. What the history books teach you is usually what the government wants you
to know. Like they say the winners get to write the history books.Anyway
yes war plan red would have drastically changed everything about the past
century, makes you wonder what could have happened.
